Secure Decisions invited to NITRD’s Assumption Buster Workshop

NORTHPORT, NY, April 25, 2011– Laurin Buchanan,  a subject matter expert on information security with the Secure Decisions Division of Applied Visions Inc., was invited to participate in NITRD’s Cyber Security Assumption Buster Workshop on Defense-in-Depth (DiD) on March 22nd, 2011.  The workshop was the first in a series of four cybersecurity workshops conducted by The Federal Special Cyber Operations Research and Engineering (SCORE) Interagency Working Group. The workshop brought together a diverse group including practitioners and researchers to participate in an exploratory discussion to determine if there is a consensus in the community on whether DiD is faulty, the reasons why, and possible alternatives. Secure Decisions’ MeerCAT-FS Receives US Department of Defense Information Security Certification

NORTHPORT, NY, April 20, 2011 – Secure Decisions, a division of Applied Visions, Inc. (AVI) and developer of visual cyber defense and decision support tools, today announced that its MeerCAT®-FS product has been granted the Authority to Operate (ATO) on U.S Department of Defense information systems. MeerCAT®-FS obtained the ATO under the Department of Defense Information Assurance Accreditation and Certification Process (DIACAP). The DIACAP certification was received under the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) sponsorship as part of the Naval Research Laboratory’s (NRL) Flying Squirrel Wireless Assessment Tool Suite. Wireless security visualization product is available for U.S. Government users on Naval Research Laboratory website.
