Controller, Operations Manager and Facility Security Officer positions are filled in this expanding small business
NORTHPORT, NY, April 4, 2011 – Significant changes have occurred in the day-to-day management of Applied Visions Inc., the software engineering and research and development firm headquartered in Northport. Ms. Cathleen Ebert-Velardi has taken on the positions of Operations Manager and Facility Security Officer (FSO), and Ms. Kelly Bostwick has been promoted to Controller.
As Operations Manager Ms. Ebert-Velardi is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business including human resources, benefits administration, policies and procedures, vendor management, recruiting, purchasing, and project administration. In her role as FSO she will be responsible for compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security regulations on AVI’s classified contracts, including personnel and facility clearances, management of AVI’s secure facilities, storage and transmission of classified data, and operational security.
Ms. Ebert-Velardi joined AVI in 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Communications from Adelphi University, and is past chapter president of the Greater Suffolk Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). She is a resident of East Northport.
As Controller, Ms. Bostwick oversees all accounting, contracting, and financial matters for the company, including maintaining financial accountability for AVI’s contracts with the federal government. AVI and its Secure Decisions division conduct substantial work for the DoD, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the intelligence community. Their federal contracts are subject to compliance with numerous Federal Acquisition Regulations, to management oversight by the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and to regular financial audits by the Defense Contracting Acquisition Agency (DCAA).
Ms. Bostwick was raised in Coram, and graduated from State University of New York at Stony Brook with a degree in Business Administration. She joined AVI in 2007.
