NORTHPORT, NY, December 10, 2010– Secure Decisions, a division of Applied Visions, Inc. and developer of visual analytic tools for cyber defense, has joined the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC) in Anne Arundel County, MD to accelerate the development and use of new cyber security visualization technology. The Center’s proximity to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Fort Meade, and defense and intelligence agencies, will allow Secure Decisions to better serve its government clients.

This past year, Secure Decisions has had a 20 percent growth in cyber security contract funding from the U.S. Government. The work focuses on providing information visualization technology to support the complex defense and national security needs of military decisions makers and government security specialists. Beyond serving as a major R&D resource for cyber defense visualization technologies, Secure Decisions develops products that exploit visual analytics to improve the situational awareness of computer network defenders.

“I am delighted that Secure Decisions, a New York-based company, has chosen to join CIC in Anne Arundel County,” said Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold. “As a member of CIC, Secure Decisions joins a strong technology and defense community where innovation is connected to defense contractors and agencies to strengthen homeland and national security.”

“We are so pleased to have Secure Decisions join CIC,” said Sarah Djamshidi, executive director of CIC.  “CIC’s mission is to connect the latest innovations in informatics, physical, and cybersecurity technologies with the government agencies and commercial users, and by adding Secure Decisions, we are able to leverage their extensive expertise in analytic tools for cyber defense with our partners and other stake holders in the intelligence community.”

“We are poised for even greater growth in 2011,” said Frank Zinghini, the CEO of Applied Visions, the parent company of Secure Decisions. “As DHS, DoD and the intelligence community continue to enhance their capabilities against the ever-growing and increasingly more complex threats against our nation’s assets, our expertise in cyber security visualization and mission impact of cyber attacks will be in even greater demand. Our association with CIC positions us to reach our customers faster and collaborate more efficiently with our technology partners.”
