SimBLEND: Vision

Our vision is to build a fun and challenging setting where entry level CND analysts can learn fundamental concepts and practice their skills in CND. The environment envisioned will feature Virtual Vignettes supported by existing Computer Based Training (CBT) modules – all within a Learning Management System framework. The training environment will have the ability to interface with network simulations so that the trainee is exposed to new scenarios throughout the training experience. The system will automatically score the trainee’s performance, track progress and recommend training modules for remediation or advancement.

Project Benefits The beneficiaries of this work will be the trainees who will acquire knowledge and skills by using the new SimBLEND training system. This community includes, but is not limited to, entry-level personnel who upon completion of training will serve as system administrators, information assurance analysts, network service providers, and related military and civil service positions that support network operations at unit and Major Command levels, other government agencies, and in the private sector workforce, particularly on corporate network security staffs and at managed information security services providers.
